Let Them Talk: Safe Summer Campaign 2025

Let Them Talk, Inc. is a nonprofit organization committed to elevating Black youth voices and reducing violence by creating safe, supportive, and affirming spaces for young people in Indianapolis. Our mission is to empower youth through mentorship, leadership development, community engagement, and culturally relevant programming.

The Safe Summer Campaign is a community-based violence prevention and youth development initiative operating from May 30 – July 31, 2025. The program aims to reduce youth violence, support mental wellness, address food insecurity, and increase access to mentorship and leadership opportunities during the vulnerable summer months. If you’re ages 12–17, Let Them Talk has your summer unlocked with FREE fun, food, vibes, and real talk all summer long!

Program Activities Include:

• Biweekly Events: Including call-out day, bi-weekly Safe Summer Kickbacks (games, music, workshops), field trips, an end of summer back to school festival and skate party.
• Safe Streets Initiative: Outreach to youth in high-traffic areas to distribute resources, promote conflict resolution, and engage youth in services.
• Safe Summer Hot Spots: Pop-up safe spaces hosted in churches, community centers, and parks to provide recreation, mentorship, and healing-centered support.
• Safe Summer Meal Spots: Nutritious meals and snack packs distributed to address food insecurity.
• Youth Internships: Two high school interns will assist with operations and receive scholarships toward postsecondary education.
