Event Overview
The 2nd Annual Melanin Table Talk is a dynamic and data-driven community forum designed to address the most pressing issues impacting Black youth and families in Indianapolis. Hosted by the Let Them Talk Coalition and proudly presented in partnership with Indiana Black Expo, this event creates a safe and empowering space for parents, youth, educators, faith leaders, and community advocates to come together for meaningful dialogue and action.
This year’s theme centers around eliminating the culture of fear by increasing awareness, access, and collective advocacy around the systemic barriers facing our community—from education and mental health to youth violence and public policy.
What to Expect:
âś… A powerful presentation of local data and trends affecting Black youth and families
âś… A panel discussion led by community leaders and experts in education, policy, mental health, and faith-based engagement
âś… Actionable strategies for family advocacy, civic engagement, and youth empowerment
âś… Access to over 15 community organizations offering mental health, educational, and mentorship resources
âś… Free refreshments, networking, and opportunities for families to ask questions and gain clarity
